Wide Bay Regional Positions – 2008

SECONDARY & PRIMARY SPORTING TEAMS

Applications for the positions of Regional Convenors, Coaches & Managers of Wide Bay Secondary / Primary / AWD Sporting Teams for 2008 are now called.

Teachers from all Schools, State and Private, and where applicable are encouraged to apply for the positions listed, particularly in sports where schools are likely to have a number of students involved.

All applications must have the signed approval of the School Principal.

Applicants for the position of convenor are eligible and are encouraged to apply for a coaching or managerial position as well.

APPLICATIONS FOR ALL POSITIONS CLOSE WITH THE REGIONAL SPORTS OFFICER ON

FRIDAY 19 OCTOBER 2007

If insufficient qualified personnel make application, no appointment will be made and therefore a Wide Bay Team in that particular sport will not participate at Queensland Secondary Sport / Queensland Primary School Sport Championships.

Attached are the guidelines for Regional Official Selection which applicants are to use when completing the application form.

PLEASE PHOTOCOPY THE APPLICATION FORM IF MORE THAN ONE POSITION IS BEING APPLIED FOR.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS FOR THE POSITIONS OF ALL REGIONAL OFFICIALS WILL BE REQUIRED TO:

· Participate in Education Queensland Student Protection Training

· Obtain a suitability card for working with children if you are a non-teacher

· Attend an Induction/Financial Operating Procedures Workshop

This will take place early in Term 1, 2008

· Obtain and maintain a current senior first aid and resuscitation certificate up to the conclusion of the relevant State Championship

· Attend the Regional Trials Day – refer to Sports Calendar for dates

· Attend Team Training

· Attend Team Outfitting

TRS COVERAGE:

TRS DAYS for Secondary State School Teachers with Wide Bay Secondary Teams

- Convenors – 1day for regional trials (no cover for coaches/managers/trainers)

- WB Coaches & Managers – 1 TRS day for 2 school days of State Championships including travel days (2 TRS for 3 school days etc)

- District Coaches & Managers – ALL Districts are provided with a pool of TRS Days to allocate (at their discretion) to District personnel

TRS DAYS for Primary School Teachers with Wide Bay Primary Teams

- Convenors – 1or 2 day(s) for regional trials

- WB Coaches & Managers – 1 day for each school day of State Championships including travel days.

- Zone Coaches & Managers - Full TRS coverage for Zone Officials at Regional Trials (excluding travel days)

TRS DAYS for Primary/Secondary School Non Government Teachers

- They must be covered by their school internally

NOTE: This allocation is reviewed annually.
